Everyone gets excited when it's taco night! Tacos are fast and very customizable, now nothing is wrong with taco seasoning to flavor your taco meat, but if you haven't already, next taco night you should give Street Tacos a try!

Street Tacos are very authentic in flavor, the fresh components go together perfectly, giving you a whole different world of delicious.

The steak is marinated in citrus to maintain a tender bite when grilled to perfection! Mixed with white onion and cilantro.

Served on a warm corn tortilla topped with more fresh cilantro, a squeeze of lime, and crumbles of queso fresco or cotija cheese...magnifico!

I thought shreds of red cabbage would also add more crunch and color so I went for it, you can also add avocado and lettuce.

What you need:

  • 2-3 lbs skirt steak (with fat trimmed)
  • juice of 1 orange
  • juice of 2 limes
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tsp ground cumin
  • 2 tsp paprika
  • salt and pepper
  • handful fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 white onion, chopped
  • corn tortillas
  • lime wedges
  • cilantro (for garnish)
  • crumbled queso fresco (or cotija cheese)
  • chopped red cabbage

In a large ziploc bag or deep dish add orange and lime juice, garlic, garlic powder, cumin, paprika, and salt and pepper. Marinate for 1-8 hours

Grill steak about 7-10 mins each side. Alternatively, cut steak into bite size pieces and cook on skillet with 2 tbsp oil. When meat is no longer pink, add in white onion and cilantro and continue cooking for an additional 2-3 mins.

Warm tortillas in oven about 5 mins, or on skillet about 1 min per side.

Place meat on tortilla and top with cilantro, cabbage, queso fresco, and a squeeze of lime juice.
