In light of Mardi Gras a.k.a Fat Tuesday, being just around the corner, I wanted to make a cajun inspired dish. I use the word “inspired” because I’ve created my own version, this version is kid friendly so I lightened up on the spice,



I know when you think of making pizza, it doesn’t quite sound easy, sounds more time-consuming but I promise when I use to word ‘easy’ I really mean it. This recipe is fast, flavorful, and it’s ready in the half the time it takes to order pizza.


Here in Houston, the weather has been playing games with us. One day we are looking for scarves and trying to bundle up, and the next day it’s sunny, breezy, and you will be more than comfortable in sandals. It just makes no sense at all. Well, the whole country has been through quite a chill this past week, the drastic weather change was known as a “polar vortex” according to weather experts. In light of such cold weather I was inspired to create a warm, wholesome dish and I thought what could be better than homemade Salisbury Steak.


We all have taco night where we cook up some deliciously seasoned meat, and get out the fixings: lettuce, tomatoes, cheese, etc…

I thought it would be fun to add some different components to the tacos, within the realm of mexican food. Sweet yellow corn, adds a subtle burst of warm sweetness, but maintains a spicy chili kick. Black beans add more depth, protein, and absorb all the flavor!
